Citation Checker was written and is maintained by David J. Weiss, Professor Emeritus of Psychology at California State University, Los Angeles. It's a one-person team. There is no commercial connection with the American Psychological Association. Weiss wrote the program to facilitate his own professional writing. As one who is both obsessive about accuracy and a poor typist, he needed an automatic way to detect bibliographic errors. During the many years while he was developing Citation Checker, he used the program to produce an error-free analysis of variance text and perfect journal articles and chapters (at least with respect to citations). |
